Dystrophin-Glycoprotein Complex Current Research Projects

The primary structure and function of dystrophin-associated glycoproteins in skeletal muscle and neuronal cells The laminin binding properties of dystroglycan, a dystrophin-associated glycoprotein The role of the dystrophin-associated proteins in neuronal cells. Applications for predoctoral or postdoctoral positions are invited to study the above research projects. Postdoctoral applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.D. and a strong background in either molecular biology, cell biology, protein chemistry or genetics.

 
  Muscular Dystrophy Current Research Projects 

Molecular pathogenesis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy and autosomal recessive muscular dystrophy Gene therapy for autosomal recessive muscular dystrophy Applications for predoctoral or postdoctoral positions are invited to study the above research projects. Postdoctoral applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.D. and a strong background in either molecular biology, cell biology, protein chemistry or genetics.

  Research Assistant
  Individual will coordinate and conduct biochemical experiments on muscle proteins as well as develop and implement innovative research procedures. Position requires the ability to perform preparatory procedures and assist staff members in surgical techniques involving animals. Individual will also train laboratory personnel in the use of research techniques and instrumentation.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a biological science, knowledge of basic cell biology and/or protein biochemistry techniques, and previous laboratory experience.
