Research Interests

My interest is in understanding cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neuronal development and differentiation in the central nervous system.  Our focus has been on the interplay of endocrine and autocrine factors in regulating the functional maturation of cultured fetal brain neurons, including the role of growth promoting peptides, particularly insulin and insulin-like growth factors, in regulating gene expression during early development.
